I know everything happens for a reason . . . but why so often anymore?

I worked with her . . .

Akron woman's death investigated as murder

Beacon Journal staff report

Akron police are investigating the death of 31-year-old Latricia Shealy.

The Akron resident, whose death is considered a possible murder, died early this morning. Police said she was found in the street in the 1000 block of Winton Avenue on the city's West Side.

According to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office, Shealy was pronounced dead at Akron General Medical Center at 12:50 a.m.

No further details were available.

I'll post my thoughts tomorrow when I can actually gather them in my head. Right now it's just spinning.

What a great weekend! My darling husband and I have been married for a whole year now! The time has absolutely flown by! Friday we enjoyed a nice dinner with his family at the trusty Texas Roadhouse. Then we headed home where Ryan fell asleep on the floor and slept through the girls running over his head several times. :)

Saturday we got up relatively early and got ready then dropped Zoey off at his parent's house and Maggie off at my parent's house then headed down 77 to 39 and over to Amish Country. We stopped at every place that looked interesting and of course walked the main drag in Berlin. Then we headed back to Walnut Creek to the Carlisle Inn. We checked in the headed over to Der Dutchman for dinner. It was delicious of course! We went to a shop across the way and fell in love with a wall hanging picture by P. Graham Dunn. But it was $215 so we had to pass on it this trip. But I'm going back for it some day! Then Sunday we got up and and packed our stuff up and headed back home. We actually passed Canton and headed up to Belden. We did a little shopping then stopped at Don Pablos for lunch. That was my first time there but I like it for sure! :) Then we went back to my mom's and picked up Maggie as well as the very nice card table and chairs they got us for our anniversary! (Very much needed!) Then off to Alliance to pick up the littlest rugrat. But Zoey didn't even care about us - she was too excited to see Maggie! lol! They gave us the great gift our paying for our cable for another year (that's what they gave us for a wedding gift too! :) ) and then we ate the top layer of our wedding cake. It tasted just as great! :)

Overall, it was a great weekend! Absolutely no complaints from me! :)

Best Birthday EVER!!!

So it wasn't my birthday - it was my dad's. He turned 50 on Friday and my mom and I planned and successfully surprised him with 36 of his nearest and dearest friends and family to be at the Indian's game. (We planned and kept it a secret for 4 months by the way!) We were going to stay for the entire game anyhow, no matter if they won or lost because we spent quite a bit of money first of all. haha! But also because it was Friday and that means there were fireworks which we all love, of course. And for them to come back from 7-11 in the bottom of the 9th was incredible. When we were all cheering for the last run, my dad realized exactly who all was there and how much fun we were having and he honestly had a tear. It made everything absolutely worth it. My great-aunt almost gave it away the day before and my mom and I were ready to be extremely angry, good thing we didn't have to be! haha!

Well here she is, the newest edition of the Brown Family. :)

This is Zoey (Zoey Marie when she's in trouble). Ryan has been bugging me for months to get another puppy (for Maggie he says. haha!) and I kept telling him no while deep down inside it was killing me and for quite some time I've been plotting this whole thing out. So Wednesday I suprised him with this gorgeous little girl! :)

She weighs 3.2 pounds and should get up to about 8 pounds or so. We took both her and Maggie to the vet this weekend and they did quite well. Poor little Zo has a UTI so we have her on some meds (paid for by the breeder of course) but she'll be fine in the next couple of days. She is very cute! She holds her own to our very aggressive, spoiled little brat which was very important. She and Maggie are already buddies. They are quite cute together! :)

My Mother-in-Law sent me some other pictures:

A brief update on our lives:

Ryan currently has a ton meniscus in his knee. He did it at soccer practice playing with kids almost 10 years younger than him. haha! Silly boy! He thinks he's still a boy! He is actually in Orlando this week for work but next week he'll be back and go to the orthopedic doctor. It's possible he'll have to have surgery - so please pray that he doesn't so it'll be a faster recovery time. Oh yeah - and pray for my patience while he's walking around the house without his crutches and brace. haha!

I actually fell at the gas station last Thursday (coming home from taking Ryan to the emergency room) and now have a very banged up body (shoulder, wrist, hand, chin, hip, etc) I'm very bruised and cut and everything. All Ryan could do was watch and hand my tissues so I didn't drip blood all over the car. It was not a good thing.

We have both been very busy with work and I'll start traveling with my work so we will get much busier. We are loving our house and are still feeling like we are just settling in most times. I can't wait to get a patio/deck (whenever we decide) on the back so we can have people over and entertain outside. I love the summer for that! We are currently disagreeing on paint colors for the house. (I'm not giving in! haha)

There really isn't anything else too new. I don't think anyhow. I very well could be leaving something out though.
